Garda 1990

Garda 1990 è un incontro tra le sfumature del midwest emo statunitense e l’urgenza espressiva del sound anni ’90. Il trio – Davide Traina, Lorenzo Atti e Francesco Dalla – è ormai una realtà di spicco nella scena underground italiana.

Il progetto nasce nel maggio 2017 dall’iniziativa solista di Davide Traina, che in un piccolo studio di architettura in Via Marsala a Bologna inizia a comporre e registrare i primi brani. Nel marzo 2018 prende forma il debut album “Downtown”, pubblicato un anno dopo da diverse etichette indipendenti.

L’estate del 2019 segna una svolta: dopo una serie di concerti, Lorenzo entra ufficialmente al basso e Albrecht alla batteria, mentre Davide sceglie di abbandonare l’inglese per cantare in italiano. Il nuovo assetto dà vita a un power trio emocore dalle influenze post-gaze.

A luglio dello stesso anno la band registra cinque nuovi brani, che compongono l’EP “Venti”, pubblicato a settembre 2020. Nel 2022, con l’uscita di scena di Kaufmann, alla batteria arriva Francesco, portando nuova energia al gruppo.

Dopo innumerevoli concerti e altrettante peripezie, ad aprile 2023 i Garda 1990 entrano in studio per registrare il nuovo album: “Forevermore Segreti”, nove tracce intense e cariche di emotività, senza filtri interpretativi. Il disco, registrato, mixato e prodotto da Andrea Maglia e Carmelo Gerace al Bleach di Gittana, sul Lago di Como, vedrà la luce il 4 aprile 2025 per La Tempesta Dischi.

Garda 1990 blends the nuances of Midwest emo from the US with the expressive urgency of the ’90s sound. The trio – Davide Traina, Lorenzo Atti, and Francesco Dalla – has become a key player in the Italian underground scene.

The project was born in May 2017 as the solo initiative of Davide Traina, who started composing and recording his first songs in a small architecture studio on Via Marsala in Bologna. In March 2018, his debut album “Downtown” took shape, released a year later through various independent labels.

The summer of 2019 marked a turning point: after a series of concerts, Lorenzo officially joined on bass and Albrecht on drums, while Davide decided to switch from English to Italian lyrics. This new setup gave rise to a power trio emocore with post-gaze influences.

That July, the band entered the studio to record five new tracks, which became the “Venti” EP, released in September 2020. In 2022, following Kaufmann’s departure, Francesco stepped in as the new drummer, bringing fresh energy to the band.

After countless gigs and a thousand adventures, in April 2023, Garda 1990 entered the studio to record their new album: “Forevermore Segreti”, nine tracks filled with raw emotional depth, free from interpretative filters. The album, recorded, mixed, and produced by Andrea Maglia and Carmelo Gerace at Bleach in Gittana, on Lake Como, will be released on April 4, 2025, through La Tempesta Dischi.
